Default Send it to me

How do you handle emails that ask for your price list. as in "I have two small children that I would like photographed. Please send me your price list and packages." signed with name, no phone number

Do you--
a) email a price list as requested
b) ignore them because they are primarily interested in price
c) write them back and ask them to call
d) something else

As easy as this issue sounds, I'm baffled as to what is the best way to handle.
Help!

It will be interesting to see what kind of answers you get. If I ask them to call, they never do, because I think they're afraid they're going to be subjected to some high-pressure sales (and my husband says I couldn't sell dollar bills for 50 cents!). I will ususally write back and say they can expect to spend between $X and $X, dependeing on how in-depth they want the session to be, and to call to discuss. I do have a little better luck with that approach, rather than the "call me" approach.

I think Corrie has the right approach.

HI "Sarah"!

Thank you for your interest in our studio!

I would be happy to mail you an information packet that includes our pricing as well as a sample cd of some of our most recent work if you give me your mailing address. Our creation fee is $xxx and we offer A la Carte portraits or Collections to choose from!

May I ask how you heard about us? Have you seen my work? Are you interested in black and white or color images? I would love to talk to you further about what it is you are looking for.

Sincerely,

The Best Photographer you will EVER have! (ok that might be a tad much but you get the idear! LOL)

This works for us becuase you are giving them a hint of what you offer (pricing wise) and that you are interested in their needs, AND they will write back with answers to your questions and this will get the ball rolling. AND, you will (hopefully) know if it is just another photog price shopping!

Hope this helps!

Cool ideas.
I think the charm factor goes a long way. I used to have some.
Maybe a weekend of sleep will help!

I send something like Nylora's, probably with less charm though.
I send them to all email requests.
YOu never know.
Did a family reunion of 60 this weekend as a result of one, plus a HS Senior today.
